Nature’s Superfoods Matcha is NOT your typical green tea. Although they come from the same plant Camellia sinensis, Matcha contains much more nutrients than the typical green tea (1 cup of Matcha tea is equivalent to 10-15 cups of typical green tea, nutrient-wise). Matcha is both a stimulant and a relaxant, providing 4-6 hours of steady energy without the caffeine jitters and crash.
Matcha contains good amounts of antioxidant polyphenols. It is also loaded with amino acids, such as L-theanine and theophylline which makes it a nutrient-dense superfood. Matcha is exceptionally high in chlorophyll which helps in detoxification. Additionally, Matcha tea also provides potassium, vitamin A & C and calcium!
Not all Matcha teas are the same. Nature’s Superfoods has sourced for the best-tasting and highest-quality Organic Matcha Powders from Japan. Ceremonial Matcha is hard to find, and is the highest quality Matcha that is used mainly in tea ceremonies. It uses the youngest, finest and most tender first-flush tea leaves, and is characterized by the subtle tones of “Umami” (plant sweetness), with almost no bitterness. Taken on its own (just with warm water), Ceremonial Matcha does not need added sweetener nor dairy products to make it palatable. Our Matcha Powder (for recipe) is good on its own too (with slight bitterness) and is ideal for recipes such as lattes, matcha desserts, etc.
Additional steps have been taken to ensure that our Matcha Powder is one that you can trust. Nature's Superfoods Matcha Powders have been lab-tested for contaminants like heavy metals and radiation.
