Work stress giving you the blues? We understand.

Some level of workplace stress is still normal and can help keep you alert and on your toes. However, excessive work stress can result in various detrimental side effects and can leave you feeling overwhelmed – eventually leading to anxiety, interfering with productivity and performance and can even impact both your physical and emotional health.

There are several ways to help beat work stress and they include:

1. Reaching Out to Others:

Sometimes just sharing your problems with others can act as a great stress-reducer. You can turn to your close friends and family for support and in turn blow off steam and regain your sense of calm.

2. Not Forgetting your Exercise, Nutrition & Sleep:

High stress environments usually lead to us neglecting our physical health. Make sure to find time to get your blood pumping with short interval exercises, consume nutritious, fresh food (avoiding sugar, refined carbs, caffeine, trans fat foods and alcohol) and aiming for 7-8 hours of sleep a night. You’ll find that that your body will feel lighter and your mood improved.

3. Planning Ahead & Work on One Thing at a Time:
Make sure to keep a planner to stay on top of your work and try to focus on doing one task at a time. Multitasking can slowly lead to chaos, so its best to choose a task, stick to it and then head on to the next that needs to be done.

4. Try to Consume Foods that Promote Relaxation:
Certain foods contain nutrients that can promote relaxation. Among others include: honey, cacao and matcha!

In the case of MATCHA, they’re a rich source of L-theanine and theophylline, an amino acid that can promote a state of alertness and relieve stress. Being both a stimulant and a relaxant, Matcha can provide 4-6 hours of steady energy and is considered a healthy alternative to coffee.
