Nature’s Superfoods’ Organic Raw Cacao Powder (pronounced ‘Ka-CAW’) is made from organic unroasted cacao beans from the premium variety, Criollo, which is known for its fine flavor & aroma with low acidity.
Difference between Raw Cacao Powder and Cocoa Powder : In the process of making Raw Cacao powder, the raw cacao beans are lightly fermented to bring out the cocoa flavor, increase nutrient availability and reduce phytic acid content. Minimally processed and unroasted, raw cacao powder contains higher amounts of antioxidants, magnesium, iron and potassium than the highly processed cocoa powder that comes from roasted cacao beans and is usually chemically processed. In short, the less heat applied in the production process, the more antioxidants and important nutrients you get from the final cacao product. Raw cacao is the purest (most nutrient-dense) form of chocolate you can consume.
