What is the difference between Organic Matcha powder and Green Tea?

Matcha is not the typical green tea. Although they come from the same plant Camellia sinensis, Matcha contains much more nutrients than the typical green tea. 1 cup of Matcha tea is equivalent to 10-15 cups of typical green tea in terms of nutrients and antioxidants. The finest Matcha is produced from young and tender leaves from the first flush harvest. We call this ceremonial-grade Matcha, which is the best grade. Normal green tea is cultivated under the sun, while matcha tea is shade-grown before it is harvested. The shade increases the chlorophyll levels in the leaves that give matcha its bright green color while normal green tea leaves grow dull green with a brownish tone.
