    Pregnancy: The use of turmeric powder as a spice in cooking is generally safe during pregnancy. Turmeric has been traditionally used to support digestion and reduce inflammation, but its effects on pregnancy and fetal development have not been extensively studied. Nevertheless, there are no studies showing that turmeric is harmful to human pregnancies.

    Breastfeeding: Small amounts of turmeric powder used as a spice in cooking are unlikely to pose any significant risk while breastfeeding. Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for thousands of years to increase milk supply, heal wounds, minimize blemishes, and reduce pain and fatigue among others. Turmeric supplements, however, may contain higher concentrations of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, which could potentially transfer to breast milk, so it’s advisable to consult your healthcare provider before using them.
